Award Winning Ecofriendly Jewelry Collection

Evelyn Brooks Designs has been invited by the cultural attaché of the Embassy of Peru in Washington DC Dr. Flor Diaz, Mr. Juan Luis Reus from PromPeru and the coordinator Mrs Heidi Castrillon of Bizz USA & Americas to participate during the Peru Fashion Night. This coming Wednesday November 20th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel located 1000 H St NW  Washington, D.C., DC 20001 (6p-10p)

At the event, guests will have the pleasure of getting a sneak peek at the Evelyn Brooks Exotic Ecofriendly Jewelry Collection 2014.  Her jewelry pieces are crafted with recycled sterling silver and naturals Huayruro seeds from the Amazon of Peru. The seeds maintain a predominantly red and black coloring with unique shape, color and texture that complement the designer’s jewelry style.

Her innovative designs are influenced by modern art and the latest fashion trends, while incorporating elements of her Peruvian heritage from the Nazca and Mochica pre-Incan cultures. The Mochica culture metal work is impressive, while the spirals in the Nazca calendar are still an enigma.  “Spirals are a modern motif these days, but they have historic meaning in our Peruvian culture,” says Evelyn.

When asked to describe her Newest Jewelry Line for 2014 Evelyn Brooks said, “Exotic, Extravagant, and Statement Jewelry…that is how I describe my jewelry pieces; people will notice you when you are wearing a piece of Evelyn Brooks Designs.  We will add hair pieces and our baby line.” The huayruro seeds have been used for many generations by Peruvians as jewelry decor during religious ceremonies and it is presented to newborns in the form of a tiny bracelet as a gesture of good wishes.
