Last Spring I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Museum Store Association conference and trade show. Where many artists, jewelry designers, buyers, and industry leaders gathered to learn and grow in the Museum field. During the conference, I had the opportunity to network with some of the top leaders from different Museum organizations around the United States.

One of the persons I had the opportunity to network with was the Director of Retail Operations for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She thought it would be a good idea to bring my Peruvian Jewelry inspired designs, into the Kennedy Center and asked me if I would be interested in having a trunk show. Of course I was thrilled, we exchanged information and we talked after the show to have my first jewelry trunk show at the Kennedy Center.

Since that day, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has hosted three trunk shows for Evelyn Brooks Designs. Yes, of course I was scared at first because I didn’t know what to expect, I always hope for the best of course. The response was positive, many customers fell in love with the story of the Peruvian huayruros, the richness of their red color, they uniqueness and meaning.  The story, inspiration, presentation and prices were well received.

Volunteers, friends of the Kennedy Center and of course customers from all over the United States who attend the Kennedy Center have appreciated my work and have been complimented in many ways my Peruvian inspired jewelry collection. I have had the opportunity see customers come back for more pieces. Overall, it is been a great experience and I look forward to come back. Rumor says maybe in May. Of course I will let you  know
