Eight years ago, the launch of Hispanicize happened; time goes by so quickly. For those of you who don’t know what Hispanicize is, keep on reading. It is basically a platform for creative innovators (like myself) to spread the word about their brand, product or business. It is the largest event for Latino trendsetters and newsmakers in journalism, entertainment, digital content creation, tech and marketing entrepreneurship. In other words, it is like a launchpad for new products, books, marketing campaigns, creative endeavors, technologies and more targeting Latinos in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.  As a Peruvian jewelry designer; this is the perfect opportunity for me to SHINE!

Proud Mompreneur Takes Hispanicize 2017

From the start of Hispanicize, I have been wanting to be a part of it. As a mompreneur, I wanted to someday be a part of it too. Lucky me; I couldn’t be more excited because that time is finally here! My story and journey with Hispanicize will start this year and I really hope that this is just the beginning. I can’t tell you how stoked I was after I hung up the phone with them and we agreed that my Peruvian jewelry pieces would be given out during the conference and even for the awardees. I literally screamed with joy! This is such a huge and great opportunity to grow my business and let more people know about my work and my Peruvian heritage.

It’s My Time To Shine

When I talked to Angela and Christy (they both love my Peruvian inspired jewelry), they were apologizing for taking so much time to get back to me. I told them that I totally understand and they shouldn’t worry about doing a quick followup because if things are meant to be for you, they will be within your grasp one day. I have this warm and fuzzy feeling in my heart that this is my time to SHOW, SHARE & SHINE at Hispanicize 2017!

Gorgeous and totally unique gifts will be sponsored by me and will be given out during the Dime Media Summit. So, all you influencers out there better GET READY to fall in love with Evelyn Brooks Designs.

I’m not going to reveal much as I want it to be a surprise! Visit us at our booth and each of you will get a chance to learn about our Peruvian huayruro (why-ee-ru-ro) seeds, which are a symbol of love, prosperity, happiness and good luck. I will give out innovative and meaningful gifts that everyone will totally love.

For years I have shared my work and now I have the opportunity to help in the growth of communities in the Amazons of Peru while buying “huayruro” seeds for my collections.

You will be wearing a piece of my heritage and my country. Those seeds are carefuly hand-picked and separated by color. Each of them is unique in shape, color and texture; so each of you will get a piece of your own.

Thanks to Hispanicize for letting us be part of the 2017 conference, You are part of my AMERICAN DREAM SUCCESS.

Promise to live BOLDLY, inspire and motive young generations to pursue and live their dreams.

Stay tunned for more details about ME being part of Hispanicize 2017

Hasta la próxima;)

I have been part of different latino women groups and I especially like to be part of those that empower latino women to grow their business. It is been about a year or more since I learned about the “Adelante Movement” launched by well known TV producer, Nelly Galan.

There are many reasons why latina’s are so strong and stubborns sometimes. But all we want I think is to grow personally and professionaly. Many of us come to this country with many dreams, some think it will never be possible (trying to convince them is though but not impossible)

All we should know is that it can really happen.  Ten years ago, I was no-one (meaning IScreen Shot 2015-09-01 at 12.31.47 PM didn’t know anyone to help me grow my business) when I launched my jewelry business “Evelyn Brooks Designs” but little by little you meet people that believe in you and believe in your work and that also help you grow.

There will be president of organizations, CEO’s of corporations, business owners, editors looking at how you work, how you introduce yourself, how easy you are to work with and believe me it all counts, people will remember you for who you are, the image you project and of course your work ethics.

People will remember that sometimes without even been paid you did more that someone earning a salary.  Although remember is a matter of time until those who saw you working hard will greet you with great respect and offer you great opportunities.

I admire the strength and energy of Nelly Galan, to launch the Adelante Movement, I bet she is gone through a lot to be where she is right now. (like many of us with our own stories)

The Adelante Dream

  • That we work because we want to and not because we have to.
  • That we are heard by politicians.
  • That we become experts on The View and Nightline—in the mainstream, as well in as in Spanish media.
  • That we promote each other and watch each other’s backs.
  • That we buy from one another to create wealth.
  • That we each teach our children about the heroes in our community every single day.
  • That we vote! That we encourage and influence everyone in our families and communities to vote, so that we can move mountains as a group.
  • That we invest in all things Latino, whether it’s a startup business or a church.
  • That we no longer be afraid to speak up collectively for those who cannot speak for themselves, especially our children.
  • That we “get our own chips,” which means starting our own companies and owning our own media.
